Good therapy empowers the person, strengthens their relationships, brings peace to their heart, and joy to their life. Finding creative solutions to life's questions makes all the difference.
Art Therapy is a powerful tool that helps you get in touch with feelings through the creative process.
No art training or talent is required. You do not need know how to draw or paint. Your feelings will provide the creative drive and self expression.
I am an experienced therapist offering counseling and art therapy services. I provide a safe and non-threatening environment, where you will be invited to express your feelings through a variety of art media. I come to the field with a strong background in art and psychology, and have studied the therapeutic uses of art and counseling skills at the master's level.
Through the art process, individuals can often approach difficult issues and convey a message much more clearly and safely than with words. Artistic expression allows the individual to create his or her own vocabulary of metaphors and symbols of imagery so that the self-discovery becomes less threatening. In addition, the artistic process itself provides a healing experience and can reveal life options not always apparent through verbal communication.
The art serves as a record of these events which the individual can later reflect on and eventually understand with greater clarity. Through this process the individual gains new insights about their lives, and tools to help them achieve their goals.
